About the Author
Born and raised in Watchung, NJ, Jim Applegate spent his formative years enjoying the beauty and mystery of coastal beaches, inland forests and mountainous regions where the rivers begin their journeys to the sea. His memories of this territory before it became one of the most populated places in the United States provide the settings for his first three novels. After moving to the midwest, he earned his BA degree from the University of Dubuque in Iowa and his MAT degree from Rockford University in Illinois. Retiring from a lifetime of teaching writing in public schools, he began a second career as an author with his wife Marion's help, publishing his first novel, Symphony of Spirits in 2005, his second novel, Listen for the Lark in 2007 and his third novel, Song of the Lenape in 2013.
